2010 DeBoer Award for Planning Excellence

In October, the City of Henderson, Nevada was awarded the DeBoer Award for Planning Excellence by the Nevada APA Chapter. Prepared by Clarion, one of the most notable features of the city’s new code is the sustainable development point system. All new major developments must attain a minimum point total based on compliance with a menu of sustainability options related to topics such as alternative energy, water conservation, and recycling.
