Planning for Hazards guide in Western Planner magazine

Working for the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), Clarion Associates recently led a team of experts to prepare the Planning for Hazards: Land Use Solutions for Colorado, a guide for communities looking to assess their local risk to hazards and implement various land use planning tools to mitigate such risk. Led by Clarion’s Matt Goebel and Tareq Wafaie, the team developed profiles for 25 planning tools, including model code language for nearly half. Continuing our work with DOLA, Clarion is now working with the City of Manitou Springs and the Town of Milliken to implement planning tools using the Planning for Hazards guide as the foundation.
