Craig Richardson, Esq.
Craig Richardson established Clarion’s Chapel Hill office in 2001. He is currently a Senior Advisor with the firm. A planner and attorney, he works principally in the areas of zoning, regional and local growth strategies, incorporating resilient and green building practices in development codes, infrastructure finance, and affordable housing mitigation. In his over 35-year career, he has successfully led numerous state-level and national award-winning development code updates for dozens of large and small cities and counties around the country; and designed and drafted over 100 impact fee regulations. Recent adopted code updates which he lead include those in Norfolk VA; Prince Georges County MD; Tuscaloosa AL; and Maitland Fl. Currently he is serving key roles in the update of the Tampa, FL and Charleston, SC codes, the rethink and regulatory reform effort for the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, and the Zoning Ordinance update project in State College, PA.
